Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actor since the late 1980s. Her work has been recognized for television and in film since the late 1980s she's won numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett is a native of New York New York and raised by an aunt who lived in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett along with her sister at the age of five old, made the move out of New York and into St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the divorced father. Bassett, while in high-school, saw John Steinbeck's production Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she decided to become an actress. Following her graduation of Yale University New Haven Connecticut in 1980, with an undergraduate degree of African American Studies, she was able to obtain an MA (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. She was married in 1997. got married to Courtney B. Vance who was also an actor. Qualification: B.A. Master of Arts (Afro-American Studies) in the year 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett has been cast as one of the main roles of Ramonda in the action-adventure film, i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
